The OV-Watch® Newsletter Issue 1 March 2006
  WELCOME

Welcome to our very first issue of Baby Steps. We're excited to be a part of your life as you become pregnant, and honored that you've chosen to share this time with us.

So we won't waste your time. Our goal is to provide meaningful information that will help you on your journey to parenthood (or as you add to your family) by providing honest, scientifically proven data on the best and easiest ways to do that. You won't find articles that insult your intelligence, but you might read something that will cause you to think about your approach to making a baby.

And this is really all about you, so please let us know what you think. You can e-mail your comments or questions about conception, fertility and relationship issues; suggest topics for us to carry in the future; or just let us know if this newsletter is meeting your needs.

LEAD STORY   Prenatal Health Starts BEFORE you get Pregnant

Did you know that your baby's health starts even before you conceive? Research has shown that a mother's attention to nutrition and healthy habits in the months prior to conception are vital to a baby's overall health. That includes everything from eating right and taking prenatal vitamin supplements to quitting (or avoiding) unhealthy activities to exercising right and taking up good habits. Besides benefiting your own health, taking these steps now will give your baby the best possible start in life.

Dr. Arthur Haney, M.D., Chairman of the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago states, "Couples trying to conceive using the OV-Watch® will be able to predict their ovulation date four days in advance for the first time. This allows couples to reduce the stress involved, and with intercourse on multiple days, increases their cumulative likelihood of pregnancy."
