FEATURED STORY

Mother's Day Promotion Success Stories:

I am writing to you to let you know of my success story. I am a 36 ½ year old female who is been trying to conceive for 8 months with no success. Given my age, I was referred from my OBGYN to a Fertility Specialist to begin testing to ensure everything was okay. I had spent hundreds of dollars on ovulation test sticks at the pharmacy with no success when my sister told me she read about the OV watch online. As I have worked in clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry for almost 14 years I immediately reviewed the clinical data. After completion of my review, I decided to give the watch a chance. I received my watch in January of 2007 and was prepared to begin to use it in February 2007. Unfortunately, shortly before my cycle started I was diagnosed with a very large ovarian cyst and was put on birth control pills to try and shrink the cyst. Upon coming off of the pill, I immediately started my first cycle with the OV watch. Unfortunately, on day 7 of my cycle, I was informed by the fertility specialist that I had high FSH (level 17) and the chances of every having a genetic child were pretty much non-existent. I left his office with a packet on an egg donor program and a box of tissues. I spent most of the next three days sobbing, praying and researching high FSH on the internet. I did however continue to wear my watch as I was praying for a miracle. On day 10 of my cycle I woke up to see the Fertile Day 1 symbol flashing at me.  Over the next few days the watch continued to progress toward ovulation. I must tell you that when the watch started counting down, I felt hope again. I wiped my tears away and my husband and I decided to not give up. If it was not for your watch I would still be curled in a ball feeling sorry for myself. Instead I am thrilled to tell you that I am 6 weeks pregnant!!! Yup... the watch was right and the doctor was wrong. I am aware that there is risk of miscarriage this early on and pray each day for the ability to carry a full term healthy genetic child. I have had 2 blood tests that show my hormones are raising nicely and will be having my first ultrasound next week. I can not thank you enough for changing my life. Your product gave me hope when I had none. I have recommended it to many friends already and will continue to do so. For now, I thought you would want to know that you helped another couple in their first month with the watch

  • Amy's Story:
My husband and I have been trying for over one year to have a baby. In March, I used the ov-watch for the FIRST TIME and guess what...I am pregnant. Why didn't I use it before?? Thank you so much. Your product is a great predictor of fertility. I've already told several people of the ov-watch. Now, I've saved the other 2 sensors for when we are ready again. Thanks! Amy

June's Q &A

Dr. Bates,

How does the OV-Watch compare in accuracy to The Clear Plan Fertility monitor? Have you had 40 and over women report better results with OV-Watch compared to other methods such as Clear Plan etc.? Could the OV-Watch be helpful with a medicated IUI cycle? How might the OV-Watch be more helpful in a medicated IUI cycle than other available monitors? Thank you very much in advance for your answers! Carol :)

Carol,

Many women express frustration with the monitors such as Clear Plan Fertility monitor and several have sent me their inaccurate results.Several condition including early menopause or decreased function of the ovary and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) may give false reading due to chronic high LH or estradiol levels. In addition, even if the monitor is accurate, reliance on LH / estradiol levels, cervical mucous, or temperature chances limits many women to hours or a day notice of the approaching ovulation. Timing is especially of the essence as a woman enters her late 30s or early 40s. The OV-Watch accurately predicts ovulation and gives a couple 4 or 5 days to achieve conception each month, dramatically reducing the stress of "timed intercourse". Research conducted by fertility specialist at Duke University indicates that the OV-WATCH is as good or better than the tradition methods in predicting a woman's fertility and was almost 6 times more likely to predict a 4 or 5 day window of opportunity. The OV-Watch can also be used to determine if ovulation is occurring spontaneously and to accurately predict the fertility window in woman on clomiphene citrate. Accurate determination of ovulation and early consultation with a fertility specialist are of paramount importance when a woman wishes to become pregnant in her later reproductive years.

Good Luck,

Dr. Bates
